What's To Come Around The Campfire

Hey my Travellers and Fire Light Wanderers it's been a while but I'm currently working on the next campfire story titled Recon which is about a man on a lonely planet coping with his isolation, but I wanted to give you guys a glimpse of what's to come. As you know Volume Two has already begun with the Titan Story Sky of Thunder which expands the world of Gigarrah and the Mega-Fauna Division, the rest of Volume Two will have run ins with Death, a robot just trying to survive and on a lighter note there will be a wedding...with a twist. Passed Volume Two however is a mixture of wonderment, heartbreak and chaos with not only the coming of Volumes Three and Four but I'm working on a special project which I has been something that will be a twenty part short story event. The project is called TOMB KNIGHT (with capitals for emphasis) it's a horror story which is utterly bonkers and very, very dark but I've had so much fun creating it, it also has a link to a previ...

SKY OF THUNDER (A Titan Story)

The night was bathed in a warm darkness and moonlight, the city stood bejewelled in against the black the lights twinkled in the reflection scattered across the sea, even though late and dawn only several hours away the city still had some beats of life going on in the streets, Marcus was stood at the bar of the office party which was at the Ocean View a club which was atop one of the many high-rise buildings here you could see the ocean and the whole city, Marcus hated these office parties the boss always said it helped with team building but it was an excuse for the people he didn’t like to get drunk and become the focus of water cooler gossip the next day, he took his drink and made his way through the dancing crowd of binge drinking and future regret and opened the sliding door and made his way onto the balcony closing the door behind him to help drown out the noise, he raised a glass to himself and toasted “To another great night” he gulped hard at the whiskey which burned his t...

A New Year (An Update)

It’s 2019 the year we’re supposed to be in flying cars hunting down human looking robots whilst looking like Han Solo in a bleak dystopian future (hopefully some will get the Blade Runner references), so with a new year comes brand new things. Thank you to everyone who has found this blog and has read these stories I’ve looked at the statistics and there have been several logins from all around the world, it really means a lot to me this has been completely alien to me to make this stuff public but I’m loving it, right last year was the release of The Expedition, Gigarrah, The Edge, Red Deer and Gigarrah: Aftermath, these tales are part of what I’m calling VOLUME ONE: MONSTERS IN THE DARK. So by having a Volume One you know what that means?... Prepare for the tales of Volume Two which begins with the Sky of Thunder (A Titan Story) Look forward to seeing you all around the campfire. Merry Christmas!

From here around the camp fire I would like to say Merry Christmas or have a brilliant Winter holiday to those of other faiths and religions. But to everyone have a wonderful time spent with friends, families and those who you love and cherish and have your own wonderful adventures to make your own stories to tell after Winter is over, because some of the best tales told are from those that we live ourselves. So from here at The Ember Lights have a Merry Christmas and a brilliant New Year much love and big bear hugs to you all. Martyn Sudlow-McKay

GIGARRAH: AFTERMATH

Hatsue sat tense in the driver’s seat her fingers gripped tightly on the steering wheel, the road was long and journey had been even longer, in the distance she could already see the columns of smoke still emanating from the fires, it had been four days since she had gotten the call from Akira she had been keeping track of the attack on Nakasato but hadn’t heard any word from her husband since so she decided to go and find him, she left their daughter Mika with Hatsue’s mother to be safe, the military was still patrolling the area even though Gigarrah had vanished for a second time hopefully she would be able to get through the city and find her husband. The radio was buzzing with reports and witness accounts of what happened during the attack and how the government was dealing with the aftermath to find survivors and plans to begin rebuilding the city, Hatsue didn’t know how close she was going to get by now the military and emergency service must have closed off any main access to...

Welcome to the World of Gigarrah

After starting The Ember Lights Project the flare of what was to begin from the start of all this has returned and that is making stories about giant monsters, this love for colossal radiation infused creatures began a long time ago. Apart from my love of dinosaurs my other big obsession is giant monster movies, my love for them began when on certain Sunday mornings would have the old classic b-movies from the 1950s and I would sit there with my dad and I would be absolutely captivated watching them one in particular was the movie The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, a film about a colossal species of unknown dinosaur that goes on the rampage through New York city this then became one of my favourite movies. Many years later I was introduced once again by my dad to another group of movies which were centred on an icon in cinema history and that was the Godzilla franchise, as a kid I never got a chance to watch the 1954 original I would later on in my late teens but my first dip into t...
